A SIM card is deactivated when it has not been used in the last 6 months. To stop deactivation do any one of the following actions at least once every 6 months: Make at least one call, SMS or MMS to another number (This does not including calls to Emergency Services or Member Services)
Activate your SIM
SIM cards are 3 SIMs in 1 (called "triple SIMs"), simply pop out the size of SIM you need. Insert it into your device. Turn your device on. If your phone asks for a PIN code, enter "5555", and press ok.
You can use giffgaff in the USA, no problem. You'll require PAYG credit on your giffgaff account to use your phone in the USA (as goodybags don't work outside of the UK and EU). Please Add Credit to your giffgaff account, if required.
Can I receive calls from another country while in the US? How much do they cost? Yes. Incoming international calls are treated the same as any other incoming call, they are included in your plan.
Great International Calls from 1p per Minute no contract along with free calls and texts to giffgaff numbers. The triple SIM has a special all-in-one design to fit all phones - standard, micro and nano.
Tethering. Giffgaff allows tethering and you can use as much of your data as you want for this. If you're on an unlimited plan, that means an unlimited amount can be used for tethering – but if you're using an Always On plan then speeds are throttled between 8am and midnight if you use more than 80GB in a month.
Always On means you never run out of data. You get a set amount of blazingly fast 4G and 5G data, then a reduced data speed of 384 kbps from 8am to midnight. You may notice that activities which require high amounts of data, like HD video streaming, will be slower if you go over the full speed cap.
Are premium numbers free?
As these numbers are often not included in contract minutes, they can quickly ramp up your costs. They're not classed as standard landline numbers (unlike 01, 02 or 03 calls), meaning they could leave you paying up to 73p a minute for dialling.
0870, 0871, 0872 and 0873 - business rate numbers
